The canines were discovered living outside in kennels or on chains, their only shelters being barrels or other improvised structures. Several of the dogs were underweight and were left in the hot, bright weather without access to food or water.
Dogs with extensive scars, open sores, lacerations, and abscesses were seen by rescuers. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, some dogs who were kenneled or tethered to trees in the woods had to be taken from the premises and given emergency veterinary care.
Although the task is far from finished, these pets will never again be mistreated.
